ANXIETY & PANIC ATTACKS

Severe Anxiety can take many forms, people may experience a high level of anxiety that can last for hours or even days at a time, whilst others may have brief episodes of intense anxiety or panic that comes on rapidly, and lasts for only minutes. Often these episodes feel like attacks, hence the term panic attack.
Panic Attacks have varied symptoms, that can include some of the following:



  • Shortness of breath
  • Dizziness
  • Racing Heart
  • Shaking or Trembling
  • Unusual Sweating
  • Choking Feeling
  • Nausea or Stomach Distress
  • Hot and Cold Flushes
  • Chest Pain or Discomfort

 

Although you are not in reality in any mortal danger, your body can react as if you are and that reaction becomes very acute you may have a panic attack. Symptoms of panic can be very distressing, you may feel out of control.

Another form of Anxiety is less time limiting and more generalised and can include the following symptoms:


  • Feeling on edge
  • Very easily startled
  • Concentration Problems
  • Sleep difficulties
  • Irritability
  • Restlessness
  • Muscle tension
  • Easily tired
When physical causes have been ruled out by your Medical Doctor, these symptoms could mean an anxiety condition is troubling you.
