The myths dispelled.
Hypnosis is not strange or frightening, in fact it is something that we all experience everyday without realising.
Nearly everyone has experienced Hypnosis many times, though they might not have called itHypnosis. Have you ever caught yourself daydreaming and not noticed routine things happening around you? Have you ever been absorbed reading a book or engrossed in a project and not noticed how much time has passed. These are Hypnotic like trances. The main difference to these sorts of trance and formal Hypnosis is specific motivation and suggestions toward a goal. Hypnosis channels the trance to achieve a desired result such as Phobia removal, weight loss, stress reduction, to name just a few.In Hypnosis you have a heightened state of awareness, as the conscious rational analytical part of the mind relaxes allowing the subconcious to accept positive beneficial suggestions.
You can never be made to do something against your will, during Hypnosis you retain selective thinking at all times. You can hear all going on around you, and should you desire to come back to full awareness, you will be able to do so at anytime.
Please note that Hypnotherapy is not a substitute for seeing your medical doctor.
